CDC Says Don’t Kiss Your Chickens

Nevermind counting them, the CDC is saying that you shouldn’t kiss your chickens during an outbreak of salmonella. “Don’t kiss or snuggle backyard poultry, and don’t eat or drink around them. This can spread Salmonella germs to your mouth and make you sick,” they said in a press release.

This isn’t the first time that they’ve had to warn people about spreading salmonella. That said, it’s probably a good idea to wash your hands after handling chickens and maybe reapply chapstick after a cuddle session.

No word if they’ll recommend that you start masking your chickens, but, of course, we’ll let you know.
