Garth Brooks Endorses Bernie Sanders, Internet Goes Nuts

Garth Brooks set the internet ablaze last week, posting a photo of him wearing a shirt endorsing Bernie Sanders. Some fans got a gander at this and tore into him. They threatened to burn his CDs. They threatened to never go see him live again for such an endorsement.

Except he didn’t endorse Bernie.

Brooks was wearing a Barry Sanders jersey. Sanders played for the Lions from 1988 to 1998. Some fans didn’t take kindly to being corrected and are still mad at the country music legend.

Garth hasn’t offered a comment on the controversy, but Sanders has taken the opportunity to launch his presidential campaign, offering Brooks the VP slot. Look for his TV ads to blanket the airwaves prior to Super Tuesday.
