Baboon Runs Away on Way to Vasectomy Appointment
A male baboon being taken to an appointment to get a vasectomy managed to break free, bringing two females along with him.
The break happened when either a lock on the crate the animals were in failed. The baboons all escaped to a local parking garage where they were found on the sixth floor, hanging out and enjoying their afternoon.
The male was being taken for the procedure because he lived with a small troop of fellow baboons and the operation would have allowed him to spend the rest of his life with the troop. The females were brought along to help “keep him calm,” and not to laugh at his stitches.
All three baboons were rounded up safely without a fuss and, no doubt the male will look back at this whole event as the highlight of his day.
