Enjoy Your Weekend: Too Much Karaoke Can Kill You

Okay, maybe not kill you, but at least hospitalize you. A man in Eastern China found himself in the ER after a strenuous night of belting out “Mama Mia.”

Turns out, the reason he was having difficulty breathing was because of a collapsed lung. And why did it collapse? Doctors think it’s because of the man’s straining to hit high notes while singing.

A girl found herself in a similar state in 2017 from screaming at a One Direction concert. She almost literally, but not completely, sang her lungs out.

Do you need to worry about this? Most doctors say no… Unless you have a preexisting lung condition or some sort of abnormality in your lungs. And what better way to find out than by rocking out to ‘Don’t Stop Believin”?”
