Episode 35- Mini Gene from Mini Kiss

They’re one of the biggest… and smallest tribute bands in the world.

They’ve been inciting screams and much more from fans for more than
two decades and they’re as rock and roll as they come.

As they say on their website, “You wanted the littlest, you got the littlest. The hottest littlest band in the world- MINIKISS!”

Why? got to touch a small part of rock legend greatness when we talked to the mini demon himself, Mini Gene of MINIKISS. So, what’s it like being in MINIKISS? From the sounds of it it’s pretty damn great. Some might
say it’s almost as great as being in the original band. In fact, MINIKISS
has even worked with their namesake over the years. They have the
makeup, they have the ability to rock out some of the greatest anthems of all time to thousands of fans, they definitely have the groupies and they
tour and play about 40 shows every year. It’s a pretty sweet way to live.

Sure, they have some of the downsides of living a rock god lifestyle too-
band member discord, life on the road but all in all it seems like a rock
and roll fantasy.

We tried to get to the bottom of some of the most important questions listeners would want to know like, “Why don’t you set up a specific time to
talk to Beth so she doesn’t keep calling?” and “What if there’s just too
much to lick up? Can you shop vac it up?”

We also dove in to find out how the band came to be. Mini Gene is the founder of the band and has worked extensively with fellow entertainers
with dwarfism. He shared his inspiration for this group and why he knew it had to be MINIKISS above all other bands.

Judging by their success, he made the right call. Although, some of us
would love to see Mini Hall and Oates too. His stories of life in a band
read like any good rock bio and they have no intention of taking off the makeup anytime soon. We asked if it ever gets tiresome playing the same hits every night and going through the ritual of the makeup and the
platform boots and the leather and the adoring fans. His reply- NEVER.
We have to admit we’re not surprised.

MINIKISS is coming to a city near you. We know Heidi is already
planning her outfit for when they touchdown in Detroit Rock City (she’s
probably also plotting a way to get on their tour bus). Luke’s probably
